Staff Biographies

Amy Valentini - Business Manager
Ms. Valentini began her dance training at the Chamberlain School of Ballet at age seven. After joining the Chamberlain Ballet Company at age twelve, she performed many roles during her six years with the company. While completing her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Texas Christian University double majoring in ballet and modern dance, she was recognized with awards for outstanding choreography and performance. Ms. Valentini has had the pleasure of working with world-renowned artists and choreographers such as the late Fernando Bujones. Ms. Valentini has been on faculty at Chamberlain School of Ballet as a ballet, jazz, and modern instructor in 2004, Ms. Valentini became the assistant to the Executive Director for Chamberlain Ballet. Beginning December 2005, Ms. Valentini accepted the role of Business Manager and currently serves the organization in this capacity under the direction of Chamberlain’s Board of Directors.

Suzette Mariaux - Ballet Mistress
A Dallas native, Ms. Mariaux began her training at the Etgen-Atkinson School of Ballet. She studied on full scholarship at the School of American Ballet and performed professionally with the New York City Ballet under the direction of George Balanchine. Ms. Mariaux completed her professional career as a soloist at the Frankfurt Opera Ballet in Germany. The mother of four, Ms. Mariaux brings that insight and experience to her exceptional background.

Ginny Lamoureux - Co-director Musical Theatre, Vocals and Acting
Ms. Lamoureux was a theatre and music major at the University of Wisconsin. She continued her vocal and acting studies at the University of North Texas and at Cal State Fullerton, nationally recognized for its musical theatre program. She has trained in the Guthrie Theatre's Shakespeare Workshop, studying acting for the camera with Jeanne Everton, and has worked with private voice teachers from various professional and educational venues including the Metropolitan Opera and Julliard. She has performed and taught throughout the country. She has written and directed programs for various professional organizations including Habitat for Humanity and Teen Life Challenge.

Shannon Werthmann - Co-director Musical Theatre Company, Jazz Instructor
Ms. Werthmann began her dance training in Dallas. As a young student, Ms. Werthmann studied with the Manheim Opera Ballet in Germany. She received training on scholarship for four years at American Ballet Theatre in New York and studied jazz while at Southern Methodist University (SMU) graduating magna cum laude with a BFA in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, she was a cheerleader/squad leader for the Dallas Cowboys and following graduation from SMU she began her career as choreographer for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Her prestigious array of credits include choreography for the World Cup Opening Ceremonies, the Jerry Lewis Telethon, NFL Football Special, ABC Salute to Lady Liberty, Saturday Night Live, and Las Vegas Tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr. Additionally, she is in demand as a master teacher and choreographer both locally and nationally. Her continuing studies include work with Joe Tremaine, West Coast Dance, New York Dance Alliance, and the Manhattan Dance Project conventions.

Mary M. Whiting - Outreach Instructor
A native of Michigan, she received her BFA of Fine Arts at Stephens College in
Columbia, MO. Ms. Whiting completed her professional dance training at the Martha Graham School for Contemporary Dance in New York. She was awarded the Helena Rubenstein Scholarship for 3 years and went on to become a member of the Martha Graham Ensemble. After sustaining a serious dance injury, she was accepted into the Hunter College Dance Movement Therapy Program and received a M.S. in Dance Therapy. While working at Holliswood Hospital, she specialized in Eating Disorders and Adult Survivors of Abuse.

Lori Darley - Modern Instructor
Ms. Darley, former Artistic Director for Dancers Unlimited, received both her BFA and MFA in Dance and choreographic theory from Southern Methodist University. She has trained with world-renowned artists and has toured as a solo dance artist to Eastern and Western Europe, the former Soviet Union and Japan. While she has set numerous works on Dancers Unlimited, her work has also been commissioned by: Dallas Black Dance Theater, Ballet Dallas and Lone Star Ballet.

Kevyn Robertson - Ballet, Creative Movement and Composition Instructor
Ms. Robertson received her early dance training In Dallas and New York and graduated with honors in theater and dance from UT-Austin. She was a featured performer with the Dallas Summer Musicals and taught on the faculties of UT-Austin, St. Edward's University and Austin Ballet Theatre before returning to the North Texas area. She has choreographed and directed numerous ballets and musicals. She has successfully directed a dance school. Her students have been accepted to national programs, which include the Houston, Kirov, Pennsylvania, Joffrey, Hartford Ballet, Boston Ballet and Ballet Austin schools. Ms. Robertson continued her dance education by attending Anne Green Gilbert’s Summer Dance Institute for Teachers in Seattle. She has been a guest choreographer for the Richardson Wildflower Arts and Music Festival.

Dudley Davies - Ballet Instructor
Mr. Davies is an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Imperial Society of Teacher of Dancing Great Britain. He joined the Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet (now the Royal Ballet) in the early 1950's during which time he married Patricia Miller, a leading dancer of the Sadler's Wells. He has worked with Sir Frederic Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, John Cranko, Dame Ninette de Valois, Sir Robert Helpmann and other notables in the ballet world. He has directed government-sponsored ballet companies in South Africa, been the Associate-Artistic Director of the Iranian National Ballet and the Chairman of the Ballet Department of Indiana University.
